Avenue Centre for Education (ACE) is an inclusive and innovative KS3 and KS4 Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) supporting students in Luton.
ACE has a model of working which is based on the Journey of the Child and commits to personalised, destination-focused contracts of education for all referred students whether they are at risk of exclusion or excluded from mainstream school.
The work at ACE is broadly aimed in providing a curriculum and learning environment that allows students to rebuild their education and successfully return to and sustain, a place in mainstream schools or achieve a post 16 destination of choice. Significant emphasis is placed on working in partnership with families, partner schools, alternative provisions and external professionals, to develop an individual approach for every student which supports their success.
We are fully open to all students and are accepting new referrals from Luton schools across all our service strands.
Welcome to The Avenue Centre for Education website and thank you for visiting us.
As a Headteacher I am privileged to lead such a wonderful organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of the young people in our care. I hope our website provides you with valuable insight into our school and the opportunities we offer to our students. Our determination, shared with each member of the staff team at The Avenue Centre, is to make the greatest positive difference to our students, not just academically but in every way that will help them be successful in all aspects of their futures.
We are committed absolutely to providing the best environment for our young people to learn, mature and thrive. We know what a difference a caring, nurturing, learning focused approach can make. We would be delighted to welcome you to our school to see the Avenue Centre in action.
The Avenue Centre is a centre of excellence in alternative provision offering academic and vocational qualifications to students from within our authority, alongside a short stay provision to provide supportive interventions for identified mainstream students, and an outreach team providing targeted support to secondary students within mainstream schools.
Our staff team are highly trained professionals experienced in a range of SEND practice and its implementation. Our staff are experts in delivering impactful academic interventions to secure meaningful outcomes for our students. We support our young people to develop holistically through our attachment aware and trauma informed approach.
Our Key Stage 3 provision utilises a nurture based approach alongside an academic and vocational curriculum to support student transition into mainstream or specialist provisions.
